Tanjika-Shoeb in Bangla tele-film Shongshoy

Popular Bangladeshi actor Tanjika and Shoeb will play the main role in a tele-film named ‘Shongshoy’ [Doubt], shooting of which will begin on June 1, 2010 in Dhaka.

Story of this tele-film is based on high society dowry in Muslim families and how Muslim women are repressed under Shariah law. In this tele-film, Tanjika is the daughter of a multi-millionaire businessman, who fell in love with a jobless boy. After completion of her graduation from university, when Tanjika’s parents ask her consent about marriage, she discloses her lover’s name.

Few years after marriage, Tanjika’s husband starts putting pressure on her for taking a few million Taka from her parents for helping him is starting a business abroad. Sensing daughter’s situation, Tanjika’s mother gives forty-five million Taka to her husband for business. Later, this man goes abroad, where the drama of this tele-film starts.

Story and screen play of this tele-film is by award winning journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. He will also be directing it. With this tele-film, Shoaib Choudhury will appear as a movie director. Vibgyor Films is producing it.

Earlier, songs for this tele-film were recorded at a studio in Dhaka. Eminent singer Shakila Jafar and S I Tutul sang two songs for Shongshoy. Commenting on these songs, music director Ali Aftab Loni said, “Shoaib Choudhury’s lyrics and tune is always different from others. In this tele-film also, people will be able to get two more extremely melodious songs.”

Other artistes of this tele-film are: Abdul Aziz, Probir Mitra, Nasima Khan, Liza, Kamrul, Mesbah, Ananya, Aman and others.

Shongshoy will be shown on Star Cineplex as well Bangladeshi and international television channels. This will be ready for viewing by the August this year.
